The Morongo Basin Cultural Arts Council is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization with a 501(c)(3) status. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum
The museum has always been a family-oriented facility whith the purpose of educating residents and tourists about the desert environment. The original collections consisted primarily of gifts from the community-at-large.

Moorten Botanical Garden
The classic collections on display are comprised of more than 3000 varieties of plants designed in concentrated habitats along a nature trail. In the world’s first Cactarium (a word coined by The Moortens), visitors will discover a special exhibition of rare plants seen nowhere else.
Cactus Castle, the Moorten’s Mediterranean style home, sits in the Palm Grove Oasis and has often been described as a haven of tranquility steeped in the charm of old Palm Springs.
